There are not many people around you who understand the pain your divorce or separation has caused. Your family. Your friends. That's the reason for DivorceCare. The church offers a 13 week program for individuals going through this life experience. It is a series of support groups and seminars conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you'll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.
There are two parts to each weekly DivorceCare session. During the first 30-40 minutes of the meeting, the group watches a videotape featuring top experts on divorce and recovery topics. These tapes contain valuable information about recovering from divorce and are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format.
Following the video, participants spend time as a "support group," discussing what was presented on that week's video and what is going on in the lives of the group participants.
Our current semester began Wednesday September 12 and runs through December 12. It is never too late to join and once you buy the book you are free to repeat the classes any time. The program is run by church members who have been through this experience themselves and have undergone the training needed in order to conduct this course.
The only cost is the cost of the workbook ($15) the class is open to everyone, church member or not. We are here to help.
