The FBC Fine Arts Academy is a ministry of First Baptist Church, Keller, Texas.  It functions under the umbrella of the Music Ministry and serves the church by:

  • Providing excellent training in the fine arts.
  • Assisting in meeting student's spiritual needs.
  • Developing future church music leaders.
  • Acting as an outreach platform for First Baptist Church.

It is our desire to provide the best in fine arts instruction.  We are dedicated to creating an atmposphere where students can learn fine arts, grow spiritually, and use their talents to glorify our Creator.

Enrollment and Instruction

Private study is offered in piano, organ, voice, guitar, horn, flute, clarinet, and violin.  The lessons are offered on a weekly basis in 30 minute blocks (45 minute lessons are available with the approval of instructor and director).  Those interested in enrolling should contact the director about availability of lesson times by calling (817) 431-2545, by emailing Patty Nelson, or by filling out the Interest Form (see the sidebar link or click here.  The director will then distribute registration and enrollment forms based on openings.  Students may fill out an interest form (on the left side of the page) to be placed on the waiting list to start study in the fall.  Drama classes will be available when enough students sign up to fill the classes.  Classes will be offered in Thursdays for all grades



Important Notes...

Srping semester begins January 5.  Interested students need to fill out the Interest form located at the top left corner of this page.  We are currently placing new students for spring study.


Should you need to miss any lesson due to illness or some other reason, please notify your instructor directly at least twenty-four hours in advance.  If a student becomes ill during the day of his/her lesson, contact the instructor directly, if possible; messages cannot always be relayed through the academy office in time.  If you cannot reach the instructor, call the academy office at (817)431-2545 and speak with Lisa Johnson, music secretary, or director Patty Nelson; one of them will make every effort to let the instructor know before your student's lesson time.  With the proper prior notice, instructors will make up ONE lesson per student per semester.

The spring recitals will be held May 15 and 16.  Specific recital times will be posted by March 1.


ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Academy is pleased to announce that Alisa Grogan is joining us to teach flute and clarinet.  She will begin teaching in October.  Interested students need to fill out the Interest Form on the left side of the page to begin the process of registration.
