Fasting — voluntary abstinence from food or certain activities for a spiritual purpose — heightens one’s focus, intensifies fervor, and helps one gain control over fleshly cravings and human will.
While fasting is not commanded in the New Testament, it is assumed that Christians will fast (see Matthew 6:16-18). Biblical fasting is always accompanied by prayer.
During this unprecedented time, we have developed a guide for biblical fasting and specific prayers you can pray each week as you fast. The guides below contain specific prayers for the dates in which they were written but can be applied for any season.
As always, please feel free to reach out to any of our pastors as you begin your fast or if you have any questions or concerns.
