Thus far in our journey through the rhythms of thinking and feeling in the Psalms, we have seen the need for thinking and walking in the wisdom of God’s Word (Psalm 1), the necessary cry of lament toward the Lord (Psalms 42-43), and the prayer of confession and repentance (Psalm 51). Another aspect of life that is common to believers is the experience of pleading for God’s mercy in times of trial. The rhythm of the imprecatory psalms is forming in our lives for times like these.
