At First Baptist Church Keller, we believe that there is no age too young for a child to learn about God.
We offer ministry for infants and toddlers through fourth grade. We provide a safe, clean, and loving environment for them as they grow closer to Jesus. We are a ministry that strives to lead your children in the ways of Christ, not just a babysitting service. Your children are our primary concern, both physically and spiritually.
Please see all the opportunities we have for your children to grow in their spiritual walk. Our classrooms are located on the first and second floors near the south entrance of the church.
Grades Kindergarten – 4
Loving Christian adults teach God’s Word in such a way that it applies to the daily lives of our children. We group the children by grades in order for the teaching to be age-appropriate educationally as well as spiritually.
Using LifeWay’s "The Gospel Project" curriculum, we "Show Kids the Big Picture of God's Story" by immersing them in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. The Gospel Project employs a chronological approach allowing kids to see how the whole Bible points to Christ.
We invite you to explore the scope and sequence, levels of learning, and parent resources at LifeWay.com.
Our church uses the KidCheck system to secure our children so that only authorized parents or guardians can pick them up. All of our volunteers have completed a criminal background check as well as a child safety training course. When you arrive at church, there are kiosks to check in your children and print out their tags. You can also use Express Check-in with the KidCheck app on your mobile device.
New Christians Class for Children
A special class is offered once a quarter for children who have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ or who have questions about salvation. The New Christians Class meets on Sunday mornings. Parents are expected to attend this class with their children.
October through April
4:00 – 5:15 p.m.
Students in grades 4-12 memorize scripture with the help of faithful adults who lead them in events throughout the year. These students participate in three levels of Drill: Church Drill, Association Drill, and Date Drill. Contact Deborah Stovall at 817-797-2347 to learn more.
We have created videos (available here) for Youth and for Children so you can learn more about Bible Drill and how you can help your child as they memorize scripture. These are great at-home training tools to help your child be prepared for both weekly meetings as well as end-of-the-year drills.
Missions Activities – Mission Friends, RA's, and GA's
Wednesdays, August through May
7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Various Classrooms
Holiday schedule will follow Keller ISD schedule.
Our children’s mission organizations meet during the school year. We have organizations for boys and girls ages 3 through 6th grade.
Mission Friends is designed for our children who are three years old through kindergarten age. In this program, children learn about different missionaries, their family life, and where they live. A primary focus at this age is an awareness of other cultures and places because Jesus loves all people, even different cultures. They learn to share stories of Jesus at home and with friends.
Royal Ambassadors (RA's)
RA's is a missions education program for boys in the first through sixth grade. Our emphasis is to teach these young men how to be Christ-like and how to carry the message of Christ around the world. We do this through stories, videos, scripture memory, Bible study and activities during class times. Each week in the RA program, we learn about different missionaries and how God uses them to spread His Word to all corners of the globe. The emphasis is not just on what others are doing but on how we can be “On Mission” as well. RA's learn about the saving power of Jesus Christ and that everyone needs to accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior.
We also have special missionary speakers from time to time and the monthly Gym Night is always a hit with these active guys. In addition, the RA calendar is packed full of fun events. These events give the boys a chance to do things boys love to do, like race pinewood derby cars and go camping.
Girls in Action (GA's)
GA's is for girls in the first through sixth grade. The focus is on learning what a missionary is, the difference between home and foreign missionaries, and what a missionary does. To apply their learning, the girls become involved in mission activities in the home and in our surrounding communities.
