Position: Adult Minister (Full Time) Exempt
Supervisor: Associate Pastor of Families
Function: The Adult Minister is responsible to the Associate Pastor of Families and to the church for assisting with the development, implementation and administration of the adult discipleship ministries of the church.
General Requirements:
- The Adult Minister is a key member of the Ministry staff responsible for helping oversee and serve the body of Christ at First Baptist Church of Keller.
- The Adult Minister should have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to ministry as evidenced by a daily walk with the Lord and a passion for the advancement of the ministries of the church.
- Specifically, the heart and passion of this person should be to engage with adults and leaders for the glory of Christ.
- The Adult Minister should have a passion for leading, discipling and teaching adults regarding doctrine and biblical living.
- They should have skills, abilities, and experience that would lead to special aptitudes in content/curriculum development, large and small group discipleship, training and equipping leaders, preparing and executing ongoing programs, events, and ministries and leading other ad hoc initiatives associated with adult ministries as assigned by the Pastoral Staff.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Recruit, oversee, manage, and train leaders in all aspects of Adult Sunday School.
- Contribute to planning and generating a curriculum to be used to equip Adult Sunday School teachers and learners in actively engaging the Bible each week during Sunday School.
- Plan and execute specific adult discipleship events such as Bible studies, training courses and leader development.
- Participate in the ongoing preaching and teaching ministry of the church through collaboration with Pastoral Staff and specific preaching and teaching opportunities.
- Facilitate, develop, execute and maintain a plan for small-group (3-4 people or less) discipleship.
- Develop and maintain a Men’s Ministry Leadership team made up of lay leaders (members of FBC Keller) to develop, implement and administer Men’s Ministry.
- Connect with and invest in with men through visits, events and one-on-one discipleship.
- Participate in and serve the ministry, however directed by the Pastoral Staff.
Other Responsibilities:
- Know and maintain all policies and procedures of the church.
- Be a contributing member of the staff by fostering cooperation, teamwork, respect, trust and dependability within the church staff.
- Be a contributing member of the staff by faithfully radiating energy, friendliness.
- righteousness, fellowship and stewardship in promoting the Lord’s work at First Baptist Church Keller.
- Endorse and support the Mission/Purpose statement, the Constitution and Bylaws, and the Statement of Faith as it appears in the church constitution of First Baptist Church of Keller.
- Other duties as assigned.
