Position: Pastoral Ministry Assistant (Full Time) Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor of Families
Function: The Pastoral Ministry Assistant supports the Senior Pastor, the Associate Pastor of Families and the church office with general administrative tasks.
General Requirements:
- The Ministry Assistant should have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by a growing and mature faith in Christ and be a contributing member of a like-minded church.
- The heart and passion of this person should be to exalt the Savior, evangelize the lost, encourage the believers, and equip the saints.
- The Ministry Assistant should have skills, abilities, aptitudes and experience to provide support services to the staff and act as a resource for the membership of the church.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Pastor: calendaring, filing expense reports, assisting in answering and returning calls, setting Zoom meetings, business meeting preparation, maintaining prayer lists, and meeting the needs of members in a kind, loving manner.
- Funeral planning, meeting with families and managing funerals on the day of.
- Assist the church office receptionist in answering phone calls to the main switchboard and assist in aiding the staff and associates in all other administrative needs as necessary.
- Support Family Ministry: membership database management, event planning and coordination, content development and proof reading.
- Work with other ministry assistants as part of a team that covers phones, picks up mail and greets guests.
- Various other administrative jobs as needed.
Other Responsibilities:
- Know and maintain all policies and procedures of the church.
- Be a contributing member of the staff by fostering cooperation, teamwork, respect, trust, and dependability within the church staff.
- Be a contributing member of the staff by faithfully radiating energy, friendliness, righteousness, fellowship and stewardship in promoting the Lord’s work at First Baptist Church of Keller.
- Endorse and support the Mission/Purpose Statement, the Constitution and Bylaws, and the Statement of Faith as it appears in the constitution of First Baptist Church of Keller.
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Associate Pastor of Families.
- As ministry changes, job descriptions may change to meet the needs of the church.
Qualifications:
- Evangelical Christian actively involved in a local church of a similar faith
- High School diploma required; Associate degree or higher preferred
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and working in a Mac environment
- Adobe and graphic design skills a plus
- High attention to detail
- Excellent grammar
- Ability to ensure security of confidential data
- Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working with all types of people
- Enjoys learning new things and helping others
- Ability to work with a team
- Ability to multi-task
