Special Needs Ministry

We embrace individuals and families impacted by special needs as an indispensable part of the body of Christ here at First Baptist Church Keller.

“Those parts of the body that
seem to be weaker are indispensable.”
1 Corinthians 12:22

Thank you for choosing to worship with us. We have several opportunities on Sunday mornings for our families impacted by special needs. Our Uniquely Created Ministry exists to welcome and include individuals and families impacted by special needs as an indispensable part of the body of Christ.

Worship

Worship Services are for everyone. We have several wheelchair-accessible areas in our sanctuary on the first floor. We also offer devices for our hearing impaired and large print hymnals for visually impaired members and guests.

Sunday School

Taking into consideration physical and cognitive ability, we will appropriately place individuals in a Sunday School class at 9:30 a.m. When needed, we will implement our Buddy System. A buddy is someone who comes alongside the individual to lovingly help them engage in age-appropriate activities. In order to connect you with a buddy, please contact us in advance.

Specialized Classroom

At 9:30 and 11:00 a.m., we offer our Uniquely Created class. We recognize that some need more individualized care than others depending on their abilities and behavior. Our specialized classroom is sensory integrated with a diverse age range from Kindergarten through early adult and offers age-appropriate activities based on individual needs.

Wednesday Night Activities

We offer an inclusive setting for our special needs friends in our activities, implementing the Buddy System when needed.
